Caroline Hundsholt is a Danish fashion designer graduated from The
Danish Royal Academy in 2021. During her graduation, Caroline Hundsholt made a professional vow – only to use secondhand textiles in every step of her creative process, always. Therefor every design is one-of-a-kind and Caroline Hundsholt never makes the same dress twice.

It’s like a treasure hunt to find the secondhand textiles, that in Carolines case are mostly cotton fabrics, like old curtains, bed sheets and table cloths. The textiles come with a story of the life they had before with small traces of wear, embroidered initials or stains of red wine from a family dinner. Caroline Hundsholt embraces the post-consumer-textiles with her patchwork aesthetics and her unapologetic way of using colors, prints and mixing of the existing patterns.

In 2021, Caroline Hundsholt started renting out a selection of her most popular designs. In 2022, she founded MERRY GO ROUND (Instagram @merrygoround_rent) - A rental platform with unique occasion wear, like a fashion library, to support a more circular approach to fashion.

Caroline Hundsholt designs her own prints and paints by hand directly on the textiles to add new life, new aesthetics and a personal touch to the secondhand textiles. The textile artworks are later transformed into garments. Read more about the process of the hand painted prints here.
